SHIPPING

How soon will my order ship after ordering?

Typically orders ship within 48 hours. Due to newly implemented physical distancing measures put in place at our warehouse, orders may take a little longer to ship. Bear with us! We’ll communicate any delays as best we can.

Subscription box orders ship once per quarter (in June, September/October, December, and March). The actual shipping dates will vary based on the publication dates of new books. You’ll be alerted by email before the new box ships and will receive an estimated arrival date.

How much do you charge for shipping?

We have tiered shipping costs:

$5 flat rate shipping for orders of any size
FREE shipping for orders over $80

What method do you use to ship and how long will it take to deliver once it’s shipped?

We ship via DHL, USPS, and UPS. You’ll receive tracking information via email once your order has shipped. Check the status of your order at any time by logging into your account and clicking on the “My Account” icon in the top right corner. You’ll find a list of your orders and can click into each one to see tracking information.

Do you ship to Alaska, Hawaii, and US territories?

Right now, we only ship within the continental United States, but we are working on expanding delivery soon!

Do you ship internationally?

Not right now, but we are working on expanding delivery to international customers soon!

SUBSCRIPTION BOX

When will I receive my subscription box?

Subscription boxes ship once per season, in June (Summer), September/October (Fall), December (Winter), and March (Spring).

What if I already have the subscription box book?

Most books will be brand new releases, but we’ll send you a notification email about two weeks before the new box is shipped and share the upcoming book selections. If the selection is a book you already have or don’t want, we’ll be happy to find a suitable replacement or allow you to skip that quarter’s selection. Just make sure to respond to our notification email promptly so we can make the necessary adjustments.

Can I cancel or change my subscription?

Yes, you modify your order at any time. Log in to your account and navigate to the orders tab, make edits in the “Manage Subscriptions” menu.

PRODUCTS + AVAILABILITY

Why can’t I find the book I’m looking for?

Hardcover Cook offers a curated selection that rotates all the time. Most titles offered have been published within the last 12 months, if you are looking for something we don’t carry we recommend shopping on Bookshop.org, which supports independent booksellers.

Where are all the baking books?

Baking books are coming soon! We'll offer a baking option for our subscription box starting in the fall with curation help from knowledgeable bakers who will help us source the best baking books and ingredients.

What does the Coming Soon button mean? What does the Out of Stock button mean?

If you see the “Coming Soon” status on a product, it means it is on order and on it’s way to our warehouse; check back, it will be available soon. The “Out of Stock” status means the product isn’t available, nor on order. Add Coming Soon and Out of Stock items to your wishlist to help us gauge demand, and we’ll alert you when those products become available again.

Why do some of your book links send me to Bookshop.org?

While we only stock a curated selection of books, we still love to spread the word about great cookbooks and encourage you to grow your collection. When we’ve mentioned a book on our blog or our Cookbook Club page that isn’t available in our shop, we link to Bookshop.org. Any purchases made on their website will generate a 10% commission distributed among independent booksellers, and Hardcover Cook also earns a small commission.

Why are your books so much more expensive than Amazon?

We do our best to be competitive by offering free shipping with a minimum purchase of $85 and offer discounts when we can.

Can I preorder unreleased books?

YES! More to come soon!

GIFTS

Can I include a gift message with my order?

Yes, fill out the “Gift Message” box on the checkout page, and we’ll print your message on a 4” x 6” card and include it with your order.

Help! I need a gift, what should I buy?

There are three great options when looking for gifts:

The Hardcover Cook Subscription Box—this ships four times a year at $85 per box (shipping included). If you’d like to pre-pay and limit to a particular time frame (say, two boxes sent over 6 months), send us an email (support@hardcovercook.com) and well create a custom order for you.

Cookbook + Ingredient Bundles—carefully curated cookbook and product pairings to help you cook through the book. We offer a rotating selection.

Gift Card—buy a gift card to let your recipient choose their own gift. You can customize the message and send it via email, Facebook messenger, or print out a gift certificate.

How do I send gift cards?

When purchasing a gift card, you’ll have the option to customize the message and image to send to your recipient. You’ll have the option to send your gift via email, Facebook messenger, or print out a gift certificate.

REWARDS + CREDITS

How do I earn rewards?

Refer friends and earn rewards. Give them a promo code for $5 off, and you’ll receive $5 credit for every new customer who places an order. Sign up for an account and get your reward link by clicking on the Hardcover Cook icon in the lower-left corner of your screen.

How can I check my credit balance + redeem rewards?

Log in, click and navigate to the account icon in the top right corner. Click on “My orders” and find the store credit menu. You’ll be able to access your account balance and get your personalized code to copy and paste at check out. Any outstanding balance will remain in your account. You can also use this menu to keep track of new promo codes and gift cards.
